In the end of September Sauna of Light and World Sauna Forum gathered Finnish and foreign fans of sauna in Jyväskylä.
Finnish sauna experience was strongly present in Jyväskylä in the end of last month. Sauna of Light was was organized for the first time under the annual urban lighting event City of Light. The event included six saunas and two tubs located close to Ylistönsilta at the shore of Alba. Saunas were open for three days from afternoon until midnight, and the visitors got different kinds of sauna experiences from a tent sauna to a Christmas sauna. In addition the bathers had a chance to buy peat or whisking treatments and all kinds of sauna products.
Sauna of Light was a big success, and the event was sold out on last evening. Almost 400 visitors bathed in the saunas during the three days. The venue was breathtaking – the area was full of colorful lighting installations which the sauna bathers were able to admire while sitting in the tubs and cooling off between the saunas. Sauna of Light also contained beautiful lighting solutions.
Finnish sauna experience goes international
At the same time another event focusing on the Finnish sauna was organized. World Sauna Forum was held for the second time in Jyväskylä. The event brought together sauna and wellbeing professionals from all over the world and included interesting talks and topics, representations of sauna products and services, and of course sauna bathing. In addition to Sauna from Finland members the participants included companies and experts from ten different countries such as the UK, USA, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, and France.
– I met a lot of new people and even got calls of bids. I feel that our company has more recognition because of the event. The atmosphere was warm and authentic, says Saana Ruuttunen, CEO of Veico, a company that manufacters business gifts.
International media was also present at World Sauna Forum, and the Finnish sauna experience raised a lot of interest among the representants. Things such as the uniqueness, health benefits, and variety of the Finnish sauna were found intriguing. Many of the representants sauna bathed themselves, some even for the first time.
– The Finnish sauna experience gains more and more visibility abroad. It’s wonderful to notice the interest and excitement towards the sauna shared by our members, international contacts, and the media representants.
