Sauna from Finland travels to France – Finland as an honorary guest in Paris Spa & Beauty Exhibition

Sauna from Finland and Business Finland join their forces for the 49th International Spa & Beauty Conference, in which Finland is the honorary guest. During the three congress days (April 6th to April 8th) in the beautiful city of Paris, France, all the aspects of Finnish beauty and well-being will be in spotlight.

Finnish brands have their own stand in the middle of the congress spa village at booth 6, and the health benefits of Finnish sauna will be revealed in conferences. The agenda of the conference also contains Finland-themed body painting, nail art, and much more. In addition Sauna from Finland will organise a Get Together on Saturday. As a part of the event the congress organizer Les Nouvelles Esthetiques spa, a professional magazine for professionals of the beauty field, will publish articles about the Finnish sauna in their publications. Here are the highlights from the two articles already published.

Sauna madness

Here is a small trip to the world of Finnish sauna which is tied to old traditions, but still continues to evolve.

Tampere – Sauna capital of the world (170 km from Helsinki) is not only known for its rock concerts and industrial history, but also because there are more public saunas than in any other Finnish city.

Sauna & Restaurant Kuuma, situated at a market square right by the lake, is the hottest (kuuma = hot) venue in the city at the moment. You can dine there all around the year and end your sauna experience with a dive in the lake.

Jyväskylä – ‘The city of light’ (270 km from Helsinki and 147 km from Tampere) is Finland’s sports capital, and the international showcase city of sauna. Central Finland has many attractions: 3 700 lakes, five national parks and a majority of building designed by Alvar Aalto (1898-1976), one of the greatest architects and designers of the 20th century.

‘Sauna of Light’ event

Sauna from Finland arranged an event for the professionals of well-being and sauna industry at the end of September 2018, during the ‘City of Light’ festival in Jyväskylä. Six saunas and two hot baths were brought outdoors, and were open for three days for everyone who wanted to feel the Finnish sauna experience. A Christmas sauna, Kelo sauna (sauna made of unique, centuries’ old wood), peat treatments in a tent sauna, sauna bus and boat, etc.

Helsinki – an urban area of design and renewal of public saunas

Allas Sea Pool

Designed by Huttunen-Lipasti-Pakkanen Architects, Allas Sea Pool is a center for sports activities and sauna yoga. This resort constructed of Finnish fir tree includes outside pools encircled by a floating pier, and restaurants and saunas with a sea view. www.allasseapool.fi

Löyly

Löyly is an ecological sauna, designed by Avanto Architects. It has a variety of traditional wooden saunas and an opportunity to cool down in the Baltic sea after sweating. Its highly valued nordic food restaurant has become a place of trendsetters.

SkySauna – The views from a sky wheel while enjoying a sauna? It is possible in a 40-meters high SkySauna, situated in Helsinki Market Square.

Sauna & Burger – A Burger King restaurant in Helsinki offers the chance to enjoy a sauna and eat your favourite hamburger.

 

The secrets of Finnish well-being captured in Frantsila farm
