You’re warmly welcome to experience Finnish sauna heritage and the magic of the sauna with traditional sauna healers in the Sauna Village on 5.6.2024 from 3 pm to 9 pm. Location: The Sauna Village, Pataniemi 420, 42100 Jämsä.
Traditional sauna healers are doing two different kinds of treatments. Short traditional vihta treatments in the smoke sauna and private comprehensive traditional vihta treatments in the tent sauna.
SHORT TRADITIONAL VIHTA TREATMENTS:
Traditional sauna healers are performing traditional vihta treatments where you can sit down on the bench of the smoke sauna and enjoy the “löyly”, the soul of the sauna, as well as the atmosphere, and receive the traditional healing vihta treatment on your neck, back, chest and arms. At the same time there can be other people in the smoke sauna.
The treatment lasts 10 minutes and the price is 35 € per person. You can just pop up in the Sauna Village and book the treatment for yourself.
PRIVATE COMPREHENSIVE TRADITIONAL VIHTA TREATMENTS:
In the tent sauna, traditional sauna healers offer comprehensive traditional vihta treatments. You lie down on the bench and you can fully relax and enjoy the warmth, smell the floral scents, and experience the healing touch of the vihta.
The treatment lasts 20 minutes and the price is 45 € per person.
Traditional vihta treatment starts every half hour, starting at 3 pm, 3.30 pm, 4 pm etc.

The Sauna Villages sauna fee doesn’t include the treatments prices. Fee is 15 € for adults and children less than 12 years old have free admission. There is also a small cafeteria, or you can have your own picnic if you like.
Take with you a towel, swimsuit, and if you have, swimming shoes etc (not necessary).

TRADITIONAL SAUNA HEALERS
Traditional sauna healers are educated guides to the immaterial sauna culture and the spiritual side of sauna traditions. Finnish sauna culture has been inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Heritage List 2020.
Traditional sauna healers are a trustworthy guide to the sauna. They do guided sauna rituals and ceremonies including runes, spells and songs, herbal treatments including traditional vihta treatments. They provide a safe space to experience the magic of sauna.
SUOMEKSI:
Tervetuloa kokemaan aitoon ja tunnelmalliseen Jämsän Saunakylään itämerensuomalaista saunakulttuuria ja hoitosaunaperinnettä. Perinnesaunottajat ry:n jäseniä on tekemässä savusaunoissa istumavihdontoja sekä telttasaunassa kokonaisvaltaista hoitavaa vihdontaa.

Istumavihdonta savusaunassa
Istumavihdonta tehdään savusaunan metisissä löylyissä. Vihdottava istuu lauteella ja perinnesaunottaja vihtoo ja hauduttelee vastoilla niskan, selän, rintakehän ja kädet. Samaan aikaan savusaunassa saattaa olla muitakin saunojia.
Kesto noin 10 min. Hinta 35 € / hlö. Ei ennakkovarauksia.
Kokonaisvaltainen hoitava vihdonta
Hoitava vihdonta tehdään telttasaunassa, jossa vihdottava makoilee mukavasti hoitolaverilla. Perinnesaunottaja vihtoo hänet etu- ja takapuolelta päästä varpaisiin. Hoitavassa vihdonnassa ollaan yksitellen.
Kesto noin 20 minuuttia. Hinta 45 € / hlö.
Hoitavat vihdonnat ennakkovarauksella puolen tunnin välein alkaen klo 15, viimeinen varattava hoito klo 20.30.

Jämsän Saunakylän sisäänpääsymaksu 15 euroa ei sisälly hoitojen hintaan.
Saunakylässä voit saunoa sisäänpääsymaksulla useammassa savusaunassa. Alueella palvelee myös kahvila. Ota mukaan uimapuku, pyyhe ja jotkin jalkineet esim. lipokkaat on hyvät, kun kulkee saunasta toiseen. Omat eväät on myös sallittuja.
