One of the deepest essences of Finnishness is our very own sauna culture. Whether it’s a hike in the forest or a hard day’s work, after both, a visit to the sauna relaxes and refreshes. Going to sauna is a ritualistic purification of the body and mind, something almost sacred to us Finns. There are many stories about sauna – and the best of them are told by Mondex.
Design, quality, and Finnishness – that’s what Mondex represents. The story of 100 % Finnish sauna heater brand Mondex began in Kokkola, Central Ostrobothnia, in 1992. Our first heaters were soft-steamed soapstone sauna heaters that revolutionized the market for domestic electric sauna heaters. Over the years, we have developed our expertise, invested more in domesticity and the development of Finnish sauna culture each year, and expanded our range with regularly introduced products that are meticulously refined down to the last detail.
Today, our selection still includes authentic and original soapstone sauna heaters, as well as a comprehensive range of different electric and wood-burning heaters. In 2022, we launched our first WiFi-controlled heaters. In addition to sauna heaters, our range includes safe and nature-inspired stone radiators (read more from our website: Mondex stone radiators). At Mondex, we look ahead and want to be part of the evolving, modern, Finnish sauna also in the future!
In 2016, Mondex merged with a Finnish sheet metal company Premec Oy, located in Ylivieska, Northern Ostrobothnia. All our sauna heaters are made in our own factory in Ylivieska, in continually expanding, modern production facilities. Having all our sauna heaters designed, manufactured and assembled in the same place, makes the production process transparent and quality control effective.
Nowadays we have a wide network of retailers, who sell our sauna heaters and stone radiators, in stores as well as online. Outside of Finland, our sauna heaters are especially popular in Sweden, Central European countries and Japan. We also seek for new opportunities inside and outside of Finland, and our goal is to offer original, authentic Finnish sauna experience for sauna lovers all over the world!
