Sauna from Finland has awarded Osuuskauppa Keskimaa’s sauna restaurant, Sataman Viilu, the Authentic Finnish Sauna Experience quality certificate in the Urban nature -category. The issued certificate tells customers about a high-quality sauna environment and – the experience.
Viilu’s sauna experience has been built from the beginning in cooperation with Sauna from Finland experts, keeping the high-quality criteria in mind.
− For us people from Viilu, this is one achievement stage in our continuous development work and we are very happy about it. Thanks to Sauna from Finland’s experts for the joint development work. We are proud to be a part of the Finnish sauna community, says the restaurant manager of Sataman Viilu, Jaska Lahti.
Sauna services in Finland and abroad can apply for a quality certificate. In order to receive a certificate, the sauna must meet the quality criteria set by Sauna from Finland, which are reviewed with the help of an audit.
− It has been really nice to be involved in this project. The Viilu is the first of its kind to receive a quality certificate from us from the Urban nature category, which is awarded to saunas in nature and urban destinations, says Sauna from Finland executive director Carita Harju.
Finns always find good reasons to take a sauna. At Viilu groups and also individuals have found, themselves to celebrate, relax and enjoy the scenery. With the help of the certificate, the customer path of international visitors in particular has been ensured, the refinement of details has also brought a lot of good things for regular visitors.
− I believe that the percentage of foreign visitors will continue to grow in the near future for Viilu. Sauna services and the customer path have been developed over the course of the year from the perspective of feedback and international customers. Viilu has a lot to offer tourists, Harju continues.
− We are happy that we have not only Finns but also foreign visitors. Viilu offers them urban exoticism with its location, several saunas and wonderful architecture, summarises Lahti.
Development and successes
The first year has soon passed, Viilu’s birthdays are already looming on the calendar. There have been opportunities for development, successes and seeing the joy of our customers.
− I’m really proud of the entire Viilu team, time after time they have thrown themselves into something new without prejudice and have developed all the time along the way. We have a truly multi-professional working team.
Viilu is unique by its giving and surroundings. The meeting and party facilities have been great all year, the saunas and the restaurant have been in actively used. The well-being moments organised on the upper floor of Viilu, held together with the professional Sunni Perk, have become very popular.
− Well-being moments have been organised with several different themes, e.g., within the framework of yoga, sound bowl meditation, body care and Pilates. These events combine everything good that we have, landscapes, food, and saunas. The well-being moments will continue again after the summer, Lahti opens.
For the summer season the Viilu staff is certain of its success.
− During summer is always a good weather for saunas and swimming. The terraces attract a large number of people, and our new summer menu will be introduced on May 24. I believe that all the development work and responding to customers’ wishes that we have done throughout the year will bear fruit, concludes Lahti.
