One man’s waste is another man’s pleasure! Zero waste thinking also exists in the cosmetics industry. One shining example here is Rimita Green – a family-owned company from Jakobstad – whose recently launched facial mist uses oat xylitol as one of its raw materials, obtained from Fazer’s Lahti factories as a by-product of oat food production. Once, chaff was used as biofuel; now its ingredients are being
utilised in skincare.
