Stockholm’s Galärparken has transformed into a steamy celebration of Finnish culture with the launch of the Bara Bastu festival, running from May 15–17, 2025. This free-entry event combines the warmth of traditional saunas with the electrifying atmosphere of Eurovision, offering a unique experience for all ages.
Organized by TILA Creative House, founded by designer Tiia Vanhatapio and producer-musician Tom Hakava, Bara Bastu brings together the best of Finnish sauna tradition and contemporary culture. The festival features six distinct saunas from Finnish brands such as Harvia, Kirami, and Lapelland, providing attendees with authentic sauna experiences guided by knowledgeable “saunamajors”.

Sauna from Finland: Media Partner and Cultural Ambassador
As the official media partner, Sauna from Finland plays a pivotal role in promoting Finnish sauna culture at the event. Sauna from Finland members Harvia, Kirami, Luhta Home, Rento and Lapelland are present at the event. On Saturday, May 17, marketing and project manager Titta Pervis will deliver a talk in the ESC Tent, discussing the global appeal of the Finnish sauna experience and its significance in promoting relaxation, community, and overall wellness.

A Grand Opening with a Festive Flair
The festival commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony on Thursday, where Tiia Vanhatapio officially opened the festival area. Adding a touch of Nordic charm, Santa Claus ceremoniously threw löyly water at the gate, symbolizing the start of the festivities. The event attracted significant media attention, including coverage from Channel 4 Stockholm.

More Than Just Saunas
Beyond the sauna experiences, Bara Bastu offers a rich program of activities:
- Live Eurovision Broadcasts: Enjoy the semi-finals and grand final screenings in the MELLOTENT.
- DJ Performances: Dance to the beats of Finnish DJ collectives making their Swedish debut.
